680 ml bottle from Summerhill LCBO. Pours a fairly clear dark orange with a small slightly off-white cap. Mild malty aroma with caramel and bread notes. Taste is sweeter than expected with bread, caramel and honey. Slight bitterness in finish. Didn’t wow me but it was fine.

Aroma of honey and malt. Taste is honey, malt and some hop. Mouthfeel is very disappointing, very bland and uninteresting.

Draft. Decent malty aroma. Pours a brownish red, with little head to speak of. Largely malt, touch of hops, very thin. Just kind of disappears in the finish. Move along, nothing to see here...

Dark amber pour (no surprise). Very thick head. Weak flowery scent. Very odd taste. Surprised me. Very full. Caramel. Yeasty and Bready. Thick. Caramel in the finish. An odd not quite balanced mix.

I tried this beer on September 5, 2008 after purchasing from one of the local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a beautiful translucent red colour with a thin foamy tan coloured cap that stuck around a while. The aroma is weak with some floral hoppy tones. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and amply carbonated. The flavour is dry roasted malt, with a little bit of a hoppish bitterness in the finish. Okay, but far from outstanding.

Bottle, slightly chilled. This is amber, caramel coloured in the glass, with a quickly disappearing head. Carbonation is medium to light. There’s brown bread, caramel, lemon, strawberry in the aroma. The mouthfeel is light, watery. I taste some biscuit, caramel in the malt with toasted nut, brown bread, water.

680ml bottle, dark amber color, with a small beige head, yeasty, sweet biscuity, toasty malt, fruity nose of faint strawberries, with some cookie dough, caramel, toffee accents, with a roasted chestnut, kind of a plum-pudding aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet toasty, caramel malt character, with some toffee, nutty, buttery chestnut flavors, a hint of fruitiness, leading towards a malty, nutty, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Copper colured, spicy aroma. A malty but not overpowering aftertaste. I’d have another.
