Schroppfy (1728), Ohio, USA Jul 5, 2004 Bottle-conditioned. Citric, almost wheat malt thing, but really I think it’s beginning to spoil vienna malt, the curse of so many MI samll breweries. But it’s not so bad, zesty but initially light bodied, yes, as Silph says some real breadiness. Fair. Silphium (2006), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jun 8, 2004 Clear straw/golden colored body with a medium off-white head which dissipates but is regenerated by the fairly intense carbonation of the body. Grassy, zesty, spicy hops aroma. Flavor is creamy with bready slightly sweet malts, musty/earthy yeast flavors, a touch of lemon, and hops flavors of wet hay and pepper. Despite the apparent complexity this is a pretty average beer.
