DA (2261), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jan 17, 2005 On tap at the Old Market. Pours a very murky red/brown, with a small tan head. Aroam is earthy fruity malts, some cinnamon and other spices, caramel, and kinda light greeny hops. The hops in this brew had an almost too fresh vegatable taste to them, kinda like chewing on a hop bud. Taste starts with a caramel sweetness up front, followed a fruity maltiness, then finishing with a medium green hopping. Medium body with a lightly bitter finish. acrdz (4129), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2004 Dark brown. Medium brown head and lacing. Caramel and maple nose, a little harsh then most... some sweet, sappy leaf flavors... a little bitterness evident in the finish. A good roasted scotch ale, very mellow with the scotch, which is something I prefer. BückDich (4491), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 29, 2004 Ruby color with tan thick head & moderate lacing. Aroma is lightly fruity with some roast & mild hops. Sweet flavor, balanced & mild. Finishes a bit malty and hoppy. Nice. argo0 (6018), Washington DC, USA Jul 24, 2004 (RBSG04) Clear mahogany body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, light peat. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some peat, light alcohol. Medium body, slightly sticky. Pretty generic. TimE (1007), Tokyo, Japan Jan 8, 2004 Deep brown color. The nose wisps of apples and coffee while the body is mildly fruity at first, but then coffee malts prevail. An excellent Scottish Ale.
