ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA May 5, 2004 2004 bottle. Pours a very clear light blonde with a hint of darker yellow. Decent head, aroma of light rice and a touch of grain and watery malt. Flavor is watery, but clean, thankfully. Some rice flavors, lightly bitter, grainy and has a spritzy carbonation. Hint of sweetness on the end typical of this line but just very clean and not heavy. Like the Old Mil Light, only with less flavor than that. It’s a great substitute for water if you need a bit more flavor. CCII7 (2), SOMERSET, Kentucky, USA does not count Apr 25, 2006 if you need or want a N/A this is one
of the best. much better than coors
busch, odouls, etc gavin (7), san francisco, California, USA does not count Dec 7, 2005 yes, non-alcoholic beer is like non-orgasmic sex. but if you must go there, go to old milwaukee. it’s miles better than o’douls and sharps. crisp and no funky aftertaste or skunkiness like the import NA’s. in fact, definitely steer clear of these imports. i’ve never had one that wasn’t putrid. Nekronos (1949), Xalapa, Mexico Nov 16, 2004 Updated: Jan 31, 2006NOt bad, for a N.A. beer, just not my type, Lager, yellow, just lager. BUt it has a beer taste. cazort (373), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2006 I wasn’t expecting anything at all, and I got something; this certainly beats Busch, Coors, and O’Doul’s, and is way cheaper than all but Busch. However, it falls short of being a "good" NA brew. Aroma: strange, does not smell like beer. Taste: well, you notice the texture (a pleasant fizziness) before you notice any flavour. Overall though there’s no unpleasantness in the flavour: mild corn malt, fainly sweet. More flavour and more body than Busch. There’s no funky sourness to the malt like O’Doul’s and there’s no sickening sweetness like coors, so this one is drinkable. There’s a metallic taste, but I expect that out of an aluminum can, and it’s markably less than that in (otherwise better) NA brews such as Warsteiner’s or Penn’s Best. Overall, this is a winner: it’s priced in the same category as Busch and Penn’s Best, and it beats higher-priced beers such as O’Doul’s and Coors. I’d say it’s about equal with Haake Beck or St. Pauli Girl, and it costs about half as much.
