| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Bottle. Clear and dark copper with no head. Not terribly carbonated. Nice citrusy Cascade hop aroma. Body seems to be on the lean side so not very sweet either. Hop flavour has a nice, slightly restrained bitterness. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2009 A little "nicer" than the standard IPA, with a similar head and slightly darker colour. Aroma and taste also reveal the additional hops. I’d dirnk this again anytime. humulushound (142), British Columbia, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Light amber colored ale with think foamy head from 650ml bottle to shaker. Aroma is light in orange zest and floral hop character with some woody malt. Flavor is bitter and bready, with sweet straw and sub-acid fruit mid-palate and a minimally bitter finish with light spice. Mild finish makes body seem thin. A reasonable pale ale that I may give another chance but not overly impressed. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2008 draft at alibi room. the color of cherry wood, maybe a bit maple-fied. bit of copper head. surprising sweet malt aroma with a really nice fruity hop rounding it out. flavor doesn’t quite live up, but offers sizeable bitter hops after a slightly bland malt front. pretty refreshing, kinda reminds me of goose honkers but a little hoppier. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Plenty of caramel sweetness with distinctive orange-citrus hops in the nose. Hazy, deep golden-tan coloured body is topped by a shy, large bubbled white head that recedes rapidly to a partial cover. Bready caramel malts are almost pastry like. Apricot fruitiness adds to this sensation as do the orange-like hops. Medium bitterness keeps the sweetness in check. Medium light body is actually quite dry with fair carbonation. Not a bad beer at all but it could use a bit more body to help the carbonation to last. Tulip glass. Fridge temperature. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 3, 2007 When I tasted this alongside the Sergeant’s IPA (also Old Yale) at a brew festival, I could barely tell them apart. Neither had anything distinct about them, and both could stand from a boost in character. Have not had in the bottle and will re-rate when I do. Trev (895), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Bottle: Poured a light copper with a medium white head.
Aroma was nice and earthy malt sweetness with a lovely floral-fruity (green apple) hop.
Flavour had a nice hoppy start but kind of fell into a flat sour-ish malaise through the end.
Wonderful to look at and smell, but I felt that the flavour let it down in the end.
All-in-all, a decent enough Canadian Pale Ale.
