| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Fairly light golden colour. Vague aroma of toast, earthy hop, maybe a hint of rye. Slight oxidized hop notes, hints of wood. Not a ton of rye in this one, which leaves it rather unfocused. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Light DMS add as much dimension to the nose than does the rye. The pour is murky straw to amber, the head quickly leaving. Mostly bready, toasted malt notes. Scary apples and banana notes. Highly mineral. Not necessarily the best water for that one, light bodied, thin, sweet and tartish. Weak. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Clear yellow. Grainy and lager-esque - nasty corn and malt liquor flavor... sour and disgusting. Nothing more to say about this beer, other than I’m really surprised it medaled. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 3, 2005 GABF 2005: Clean straw hued with a fizzy head. The aroma has notes of rye and grassy hops, bready malts and a touch of lactic twang. The taste was about the same as the nose, grainy and somewhat citric with a sweet and bready malt background. The feel is watery and thin. Okay, another state rated. I have had a few Alabama beers before (when I lived in Biloxi) but that was pre-ratebeer. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2005 They say "straw color"?!? This stuff is brown! It does have a nice head. Although I swear this smelled like dirty feet at first, for some reason it was appealing. Then on the first swallow, this actually stands like a good pale ale, hoppy and tasty. I had to do a double take with the bartender to make sure he didn’t mix this "rye" with an IPA. The one downfall was an almost detergent finish. Despite this review, I liked this beer. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 26, 2007 Draught. Pours light copper-bronze with a spare white head, spare lacing, mostly diminishing. Aroma is average malt (bread, caramel), average hops (herbs), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of rye. Light bodied, sticky texture, soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; straw and meal malt, earth flavor.
