They say "straw color"?!? This stuff is brown! It does have a nice head. Although I swear this smelled like dirty feet at first, for some reason it was appealing. Then on the first swallow, this actually stands like a good pale ale, hoppy and tasty. I had to do a double take with the bartender to make sure he didn’t mix this "rye" with an IPA. The one downfall was an almost detergent finish. Despite this review, I liked this beer.

Brought to Tampa by brewer Jeremy, thanks buddy. Pours brilliant clear copper with white head. The aroma is pretty roasty with a solid rye component. Wow, nice and malty with mild hop notes I can’t really pin down. The taste is much the same starting with a vague yet varied hop bitterness and solid mild roastiness moving to chocolate malts followed up by a very tasty rye twang. Near pine bitterness sort of rises up into the finish to round this out.

Growler, courtesy the brewer. Pours a dark golden hue, with a thick creamy white head and very sticky lacing. Aroma of rye, sticky sweet malts, and sweet fruit like subtle peach. Dry malt flavors, rye, nice sweet wheat. Very creamy mouthfeel, crisp, and drinkable.

Growler courtesy of Jeremy the brewer. Pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, spicy rye, slight roast, and a touch of citrus. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Good.

Cakey, fruity malt aroma. Brownish gold, with filmy white head. Crisp hops, some diacetyl, biscuity. slightly briny, not sweet at all. Medium starchy body. Biscuity aftertaste. Good choice for good pairing.

Medium brown body with a very slight haze. There’s a slight bit of hops. There’s malt presence but all of the flavors seem a bit muted and dull.

I had somewhat elevated hopes for this one as I’ve been liking the influence of Rye in beer as of late. Unfortunately this was not all I had hoped for. Poured a light orange color with a wispy head. Very light carbonation. Aroma was very light with grainish malts and lightly crisp hops. Nothing fancy or too pronounced. Some malt backbone with rye sweetness to this with well balanced pine-like hops. Easy drinking. Body was light and watery (too much so).
