| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Had on tap, poured a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma was subtle, mostly of caramel malt, cream, and a bit of bitterness. Flavor was similar, but fuller than the aroma, with good malt characteristics- not complex, but certainly tasty and quaffable. I would categorize this closer to an English Strong than an American Strong- not nearly enough hop presence for the style given here. Still, certainly a decent brew. nuplastikk (1205), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Draft at PA Spring Fest. Roasty, sandy, perfect Black and Tan. Black amber color. Not unlike a Mississippi Mud bet deeper. Rich, but incredibly balanced, this is what B+T is all about. Lubiere (4537), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2009 A dark reddish brown ale with a thin lacing light moka head. A pleasant caramel aroma, with strawberry notes, and light hops. In mouth, a light brown ale with nice light hops, a good quenching ale. Growler bought in a Willimantic store, May 2007 and shared with Outaouais gang June 2007. hophead75 (1961), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Growler, RI - Poured a very dark brown with smooth shallow head. Palate was sliky smooth, more of a porter than a black and tan. Mild chocalate flavors without too much roast. kevd193213 (499), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Growler. Dark brown, almost black pour with a thin coffee head. Aroma of coffee, hops and roasted malt. Taste of almonds, malt with a coffee and chocolate hint. Nice dry finish. Not sure about the classification, to me this was a porter all the way. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Growler, split with 2 others. I would consider this a Swartzbier. Pours near black, rich roasted taste with smooth lager characteristics. It reminds me of Mississippi Mud, but only better. wonderful.
