Commercial Description:
A new limited production beer! A small quantity of Olde Hickory Brewery’s Dunkel Weizen has been aged in oak barrels to add just a smidge of alcohol on the nose and some of the wood flavors to the taste. It’s still our beloved Dunkel Weizen at heart, with all the great flavors you expect!

Draft Sample at 13th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Brown in the glass with an off-white head that settled to a ring and left light lace. Tart fruits in the aroma and flavor with a light hint of malt. Medium body. Sweet upfront but a heavy tart ending.

Sampled at charlotte octoberfest 2009. Tap handle said Unkle Dunkle so I was surprised when he also told me it had been sitting on some Jim Beam wood for a while and you can definitely tell once you bring the glass up to your nose. Not overpowering but a nice subtle whiskey, wood, vanilla aroma. The flavor is grain, baked bread and alcohol. Pretty nice.
