Kinda festive, actually. Reddish copper, thin white head. Allspice, apple, clove aroma. Very rich mouthfeel. Flavors of plum, cinnamon, figs, and (surprise) peppermint. As it warms, notes of gingerbread and orange pop up. Surprisingly bright, spritzy finish. Fun, unique beer. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

balanced. Not sure what fruit it is, because
the taste is subtle. Bold flavor, well balanced
and light. Appearance is slightly amberish, and
mostly clear. Another good beer from my hometown.
Almost as good as the pale ale. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA

Sweet piney taste at first, followed by fruit flavors, mostly apple and oranges. Good balance between the sweet, spicy and bitter. Thin, but rich and fun to drink for the holidays. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 20, 2006 I had this beer with and without the candy cane. It’s a cute addition and nice to munch on afterwards, but didn’t do much for the beer otherthan add a candy cane taste. I think it’s a fairly good beer. Had it at Sunspot, glad to hear I can find it at Half Barrell shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Definitely a Christmasy brew. Served with a cutsey pie little candy cane hung on the side, unsuprisingly you get primarily peppermint in the nose. Golden yellow with a thin head, yet still a pretty beer. The taste is decently complex, with orange peel, honey and a bit of, what is that, ginger? Nutmeg? and of course the peppermint candy cane. I found the hoppy finish to clash with the blend of flavors, and was not altogether satisfied with the thin mouthfeel. Still, a decent winter’s brew. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

Dark amber in the glass with a small white head that left small lacing rings. The aroma was wheat, honey, and fruity. Spices and orange in the flavor. Light, smooth, and enjoyable. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
