astrofrk (218), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 13, 2009 On tap at Union Jacks. This is a "Niro-brew".
Dark amber. HUGE creamy head. Aroma: Fruit, caramel, malt. Flavor: Earthy hops, fruit, spice. Light finish.
This isn’t a bad beer at all but seemed more like an Old-style than a Scotch ale.
Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 13, 2009 Took an extremely long time to pour - copper, very foamy. Malty, caramelly, faintly earthy aroma. Flavor is caramelly and sweet, with just a touch of earthiness. Seems a bit more watery than I expected. Not as assertive as I expected. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 8, 2009 Poured on nitro tap at Union Jack’s. L’Ecosse appears to be French for Scotland, other than that I know very little about this beer. Huge nitro off white foam sits on a clear red body. The aroma isn’t much except that dry nitro musk, some sweet malts. The taste is a noticeable improvement, lots of caramel, fruitiness, some chocolate finishing notes. Has that smooth nitro body to it which I don’t particularly care for but is otherwise a good enough beer.
