wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Dec 20, 2007 Draught, at pub in downtown hickory. Brown-amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is delightfully malty, roasted chocolate, caramel, some coffee, very sweet. Flavor is similar, slight bitterness, but especially malty. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Sep 27, 2007 I love scotch ales. This was a rather good one in my opinion. Pours out a deep brown color with a nice beige head. This thing is full of roasted malt. Lots of caramel and malt in the flavor. Something i would love to drink again. God job guys! JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Sep 25, 2007 Sampled at Brewgrass 2007. Pours a mostly clear reddish-amber color with a thin off-white head. A bunch of caramel and malt on the nose. The taste pretty much follows suit - a lot of sweet malt, but no peat and no complexity. Just a general bland Scotch Ale. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Nessie’s Scotch Ale

Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 23, 2007 Caramelly brown, no head. Very Molassesy. Is that word? I gonna go with that. Molasses in the aroma, molasses in the flavor. Touch of coffee, to and mild hop bite at the end, but mostly molasses. I don’t know what they did with the rest of the mole. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Apr 2, 2007 on tap-pours an off white head and mahogany/deep red color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-sweet. Taste is medium/dark malt-sweet. Mild carbonation. NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Feb 2, 2007 Draught during my NC brew tour. Pours very dark ruby, opaque in the middle of the glass. A tan head rests on top. Notes of roasted caramel, oak are in the aroma. The mouthfeel is just medium and falls a little flat on the palate. Appealing lightly smokey cigar flavors and sweet bourbon notes are found, but the beer doesn’t fully capitalize on the potential complexity.
