A clean, thirst quenching lager based on the ancient European style, this local version is true to form with malty body and crisp, but short hop snap at final swallow.

Clear Golden yellow, thin but persistant head. Floral, resiny hop aroma. Crisp, hoppy flavor up front, but a mildly stale taste at the finish. Overall, nicely done, but I wish it finished crisper.

From notes 5/17/03: Straw yellow color. Clear. Bright white fluffy head. Laced exceptionally well with each and every sip marked on the glass. Grainy aromas, almost husky. The taste also was grainy, with some grassiness. A mild hop bite at the end of the taste typical of the pilsner. Nothing skunky or nasty with either the aroma or taste. Nice. A crisp. clean, refreshing beer. The "lightest" offering according to the OHB.

A golden pour with bubbly white head and lace that go rather quickly. Aroma of corn and some malt. A nice semi sweet malt and corn mix followed by a pretty decent bitter finish. A really clean and pleasant drinker.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden color with white head that laced the glass. Nice (saaz?) hop aroma and flavor with cereal grain malt in the background. Light and crisp with a dry, slightly bitter finish.

Clear yellow, a bit darker than the light, but with the same sudsy head. The aroma is faint and the flavor lacks the hop aroma and much of the flavor of some of the better pils I’ve had this trip. Drinkable, but I’d take the light over this I think.
