timsilvia32 (445), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 19, 2009 On tap. Nearly black pour, tan head, darker than most schwarz I’ve had. Roast aromas, almost like some lactose-ish tones. Nice roast malty flavors, earthy, also with a little raisin or fig. Some pine hops to balance. Extreamly smooth mouthfeel. Would be very sessionable. One of the more enjoyable schwarzbiers I’ve had. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Mar 8, 2009

astrofrk (218), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 30, 2008 Black. Small head. Aroma: Chocolate, sweet malts. Flavor: Coffee, sweet malt, hops. Porter-like. Light bitter finish. tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Oct 30, 2008 Draught at Union Jack’s, Knoxville. Pours very dark red-brown with good size foamy khaki head. The aroma is bitter chocolate, a few coffee notes, and quite a bit of smooth fruitiness. The flavor is bitter chocolate, cherry, a little bit of wood, some pumperknickel, and a light roastiness. It finishes medium-sweet and leaves a chocolate and ash aftertaste. I’m actually quite impressed with this one. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 25, 2008 Black, thin tan head. Clean oaty aroma, but really a bit bland. Flavor is kind of an oreo cookie kinda thing, with some vanilla and crisp, ashy finish.
