Poured from a can, which is awesome in and of itself, and the can looks sort of like Olde English, which is even cooler. Unfortunately, this is a pretty boring beer. Pours amber with decent off-white head. Hops are minimal and of the English style. More coppery/bready/biscuity/grainy malt. A bit too metallic, but drinkable. An unexciting amber, but cool points for being brewed for a religious school.

Big malt aroma. Golden coloured and hoppy with a little dryness in a crisp and nutty malt finish. CanIHave4Beers (913), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Pours with a small fizzy white head which has a minimal retention. Color is a deep amber and the beer is perfectly clear. Aroma is malty and nutty and has a sort of raw grain quality too it,, it also kind of smells like the aroma of a brewery. I guess it smells all right. Flavor is nutty and has a distinct brown sugar sort of character, there is some weird vegetal stuff going on and it seems a tad on the sweet side. It’s not awful, that’s for sure. fidelis83 (729), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Poursdark amber with a 1-2 finger off white-yellow head. Aroma is white bread, heavy caramel, some dark fruit, brown sugar, sweet grain only slight hints of planty hops. Flavor is caramel, toasted nuts, toffee, dried grain, granola, toast, finishes with hints of slightly bitter and planty hops, nuts and burnt sugar. Palate is medium to thin thickness, high carbonation and a fairly sweet finish. Overall pretty weak flavor but still manages some complexity, some vegetal notes bring it down though. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Bottle courtesy of pj1855. Light bread dough and caramel aroma. Average frothy white head. With decent lacing. Average density with medium amber clear color. Lightly sweet and acidic flavor. Average duration. Light to medium body with a mildly creamy texture. Underrated at this point in my opinion. pj1855 (157), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
