(22oz bottle) Lightly-hazed amber body with medium off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, light spice. Taste is medium sweet, orange, floral, some grapefruit, spice. Medium body, light resin. The hoppiness is evident, but lower alpha acidity hops result in a beer that isn’t especially bitter for the style. Still, quite yummy.

650 ml bottle from vintage cellars. Hazy brownish yellow with a fizzy white head. Grapefruit and hoppy aroma. Thick sticky palate. Fruity notes with a big malty taste moderate bitterness and some perfume hoppiness to the finish.

Very little aroma to speak of especially for an IPA. Flavor was mediocre but left a fine bitterness to the palate. Not a bad beer but, being a hophead, gotta search for more hops.

A tasty IPA, but nothing to write home about. I would drink this one on a hot sweaty Richmond day.

Bottle. Golden with a decent head. Spicy hop aroma with a hint of citrus and pine. A dry beer with tongue stripping acidity, but with enough malt backbone and residual sweetness to make it a good beer.

Thanks to Secret Santa for this, which i didn’t realize was brewed by St. George. Pours clear medium copper with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, wet hops, citrus, lemongrass, and slight funk. Tastes caramel lemongrassy malty, with some funky yeast notes plus the wet hops and finishing spicy floral notes. Very complex, with a unique balance of malt, hops, and spicy floral flavor notes.

Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tastign room. From bottle, pours a semi-hazy golden blonde brew with an average white head. Aroma of light caramel malt, Citrus peel, and some floral herbs. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a dry grapefruit flavor. Finish is a good balance of sweet with grapefruit tartness. A very good balanced IPA.

07 RBSG grand tasting. Hazy orange color with a whispy white head and a floral hop nose. Rich malty breadiness under an assertive grapefruit hoppiness. Long dry grapefruit zest finish. Nice IPA.
