| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Chocolate, caramel, and raisin bouquet, of decent strength. Mahogany color, thin tan head, nice lacing. Dry charred oak taste with a short sour kiss at midpalate. Lemon grass and coffee taste lingers for a good while, perhaps too long. It doesn’t warm particularly well. Radek Kliber (4000), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance :Clear brown with ruby light sipping trough. Respectable creamy thick top. Handsomely made lace.4+
Nose :Fresh, aromatic hop presence neatly weaved into good clan brown malts. Plain cocoa bean, gentle hint of vanilla. 7+ Flavour/Palate : Solid brown ale with good well defined brown malts. Sweet with slight cocoa dryness. Softer finish. Pleasant to have. One complain was that it was slightly overcarbonated.7-

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Deep, dark brown pour with a frothy, sticky tan head. The nose is boisterous, with lots of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. The flavor initially caught me off guard... it’s a bit hoppy, a tad more than normal for the style. Don’t get me wrong... I’m a hophead all the way. The bitters, which I would have enjoyed more on the back palate, make their way into the mid-palate, covering up a nice roasted malt, walnut, toast, coffee beans and dark bittersweet chocolate. Everything works well together, but the bitter finish gives itself away just a little early, knocking the brew off kilter. The nuts do integrate nicely, though, and the brew feels nice and warmly round in the mouth... almost creamy. Good job overall. Braudog (3789), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Bomber -- The big rocky head clings to the glass as it reluctantly gives ground to the deep rosy brown stillness below. The aroma is rich, almost chocolatey and inviting. The nuttiness in the flavor is the first impression, followed by a bit of dark chocolate. An easy bitterness follows. Nice quaffable brown ale. Quite well done. (#2962, 6/6/2007) hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2007 22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a deep brown (with a red tint) and a larger sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted & toasted nuts, caramel, and lightly earthy. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, earhiness, and light caramel. Bitter chocolate finish. jefcon (1009), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2007 Nearly black in the glass with a good half inch of head with stayng power. Aromas are almost porter-like, chocolate, malted, dry roast. Tons of bitter chocolate on the tongue. Palate is a little thin, and as a result the finish is a bit wet. Overall, a very aggressive brown ale. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2007 Bottle. Dark brown to mahogany with a ruby hue. Foamy, tall tan head. Aroma smacks of chocolate malt, caramel, soft nuttiness, and toasted wheat bread. There’s some hop bitterness coming through in the taste along with slighter caramel, choco notes, stronger nuttiness and more toasted bread. Body is medium-full with a creamy carbonation feel and a light lingering hop bitterness. Ends with more chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toasty breads, raw nuts, and earthy hops. I don’t care much for browns but this was rather nice!
