Jun 2, 2007 22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a deep brown (with a red tint) and a larger sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted & toasted nuts, caramel, and lightly earthy. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, earhiness, and light caramel. Bitter chocolate finish.

May 24, 2008 Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with well-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty malts and nutty complexity along with a touch of English hops. Body starts with about average fullness and good sweet dark caramel and nutty character before a semi-dry nicely balanced finish. A good brown ale.

Appearance :Clear brown with ruby light sipping trough. Respectable creamy thick top. Handsomely made lace.4+
Nose :Fresh, aromatic hop presence neatly weaved into good clan brown malts. Plain cocoa bean, gentle hint of vanilla. 7+
Flavour/Palate : Solid brown ale with good well defined brown malts. Sweet with slight cocoa dryness. Softer finish. Pleasant to have. One complain was that it was slightly overcarbonated.7-
