| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Tap at Hop Devil. Aroma of caramel malt with a light tartness and red fruits. Flavor brings out a rich, sweet malt as the tart hint remains, and more earth and bread comes out as well. Thought this was a Vienna as I was drinking it, I guess it’s a sort of hybrid. In any case, quite tasty. LilBeerDoctor (1505), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 3, 2008 On tap at HDG. Pours a deep red/orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of nuts, nice sweet malt, brown sugar, some vegetal notes too. Hmm, didn’t realize this was an oktoberfest but now it makes sense I guess. It’s alright. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2008 I am definitely a fan of Mendocino/Saratoga Brewing. They consistently release solid, tasty beers. This one has a nice, antique-looking sepia drawing on the label. It pours dark amber, without much head. There is a fine aroma of citrus and floral hops, with a little cookie dough too. It is pretty dry and fizzy in the mouth. The taste is fresh and nicely balanced, with malts mid-palate and piney hops in the finish. The label says most of the ingredients originate in Deutschland, and it does taste like a German import. For some reason (marketing, perhaps?), they call it a lager even tho it is a marzen. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Draught at Hop Devil, NYC. Golden/orange color, white head. Quite weak malt aroma. Malty flavor, diacetyl, toffe, and with some bitterness. blipp (1679), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange with a light orange head. Very light aroma or sweet malt, not quite caramel, not quite spicy, just very light. Medium thin body. Flavor is again very light and sweet malt. Not a bad beer but I would like to be able to taste a little more.
