| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Bright amber, huge tan head. Decent lacing. Big caramel and toffee aroma, faint fruity esters in the background. Flavor much the same. Huge caramel and toffee, spicy-euro hop bite in the finish, helps clean the palate. Medium body-mouthfeel. Well balanced. Pleasantly surprised. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 27, 2006 From the bottle, pours a clear, deep crimson with a thin, bubbly off-white head. Smells initially like sweet malts with a bit of cherries mixed in. There’s also some aromas of "stale spilled beer from last night". Very malty taste. A bit of cherry here too, but maltiness dominates the flavor, especially as the beer warms. Syrupy, but not uncomfortably thick. Not bad, but not great. TheBeerGod (3169), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 14, 2006 Bottle. Amber body with only small bubbles on the surface. Nose is slightly spicy and malty with caramel and ripe fruits. Taste is rich malts, caramel, light fruit notes, light spicy hops and soft toffee notes. Medium feel to the palate with light carbonation. Chewy in spots. Finishes with more caramel, sweet malts, light fruits and a touch of toffee. Mild spicy hops as well. Not bad! seeknay36 (109), Port Jefferson Station, New York, USA
