Commercial Description:
Brewed in the grand tradition of the Vienna beers of Austria and the Marzenbiers of Munich, Olde Saratoga Premium Lager is a smooth, medium-bodied lager with a pale copper color and a rich aroma. German hops and imported Munich malt impart an intriguing balance between light, soft bitterness and a refreshing sweetness. Hand-crafted with an "old world" attention to detail, Olde Saratoga Premium Lager is a sure bet every time.

Had that typical octoberfest sweetness, nice and malty. Fit in well with the style of beers we had at this year’s 1000 Islands beer tasting.

The aroma is nice with quality malt and hops. The appearance is amber with a nice head. The flavor is mildly sweet with caramel and bitter hops. The palate is thick for the style. Overall a good beer.

Bottle... a friend was kind enough to give me a bottle. Not a bad beer at all. Full flavored with a crisp finish. Nice aroma.

Bright amber, huge tan head. Decent lacing. Big caramel and toffee aroma, faint fruity esters in the background. Flavor much the same. Huge caramel and toffee, spicy-euro hop bite in the finish, helps clean the palate. Medium body-mouthfeel. Well balanced. Pleasantly surprised.

I normally like Yeungling, Sam Adams, and others. Found this on the FANY bike ride (Five hundred miles Accross New York) last summer and I believe I have a new favorite!

From the bottle, pours a clear, deep crimson with a thin, bubbly off-white head. Smells initially like sweet malts with a bit of cherries mixed in. There’s also some aromas of "stale spilled beer from last night". Very malty taste. A bit of cherry here too, but maltiness dominates the flavor, especially as the beer warms. Syrupy, but not uncomfortably thick. Not bad, but not great.

Bottle. Amber body with only small bubbles on the surface. Nose is slightly spicy and malty with caramel and ripe fruits. Taste is rich malts, caramel, light fruit notes, light spicy hops and soft toffee notes. Medium feel to the palate with light carbonation. Chewy in spots. Finishes with more caramel, sweet malts, light fruits and a touch of toffee. Mild spicy hops as well. Not bad!

Tap at Hop Devil Grill. Light amber with very little head. Malty flavor, bit sweet. I had a hard time getting a good taste from the beer. Not something I would try again.
