Feb 21, 2006 That "premium lager" almost threw me off - this is a rather nice, full bodied beer with some fine malt and hop qualities. Really wonder if it’s been retooled since earlier as I see some poor rating from years back. Good stuff

Dec 30, 2005 On tap at Hop Devil Grill. Golden in color with no head. Light and malty aroma. Flavor is malty and sweet. Light hop character. Refreshing. Ok.

Dec 30, 2005 Updated: Jun 15, 2008Tap @ Hop Devil Grill. Rich gold color but doesn’t hold the head very well. Aroma is really light with some roasted grains. Taste is sweet but not corn juice. Flavors of malt are right up front with a nice carbonation mouth feel to wash it away. Not bad at all.

Dec 11, 2005 Updated: Dec 12, 2005On tap at the Inn at Saratoga. Surprisingly flavorful, with a nice hoppy bite. Dark golden color and lasting head, little malt backbone, but the hops were nice.

Oct 5, 2005 I’ve never seen a pale lager pour like this one - deeper reddish-amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of nothing (seriously, I do not get 1 thing out of sniffing this beer). Tastes of toffee, caramel and some citrus. Thinner body.

Aug 29, 2005 Bottled. I doubt this is a pale lager given that it pours copper with a thin white head and smells of caramel, sugar and yogurt. Tastes of malt, pepper, and orangey. Nice mouthfeel. Sweet finish.

Aug 10, 2005 Aroma of caramel, brown sugar/malt. Ruby body with an off white head. Flavor is caramel, cherry, dusty malt, some sulfur and brown sugar in the finish. Almost bocky. Very nice but not as light/refreshing as I expected. More of a winter brew.

Jun 26, 2005 Little aroma though there is a faint hint of some honeyish sweetness. Poured nice with a creamy white head that took a little time to recede. Tea colored which is unusual for a pale lager. Wow very different. Some STRONG flavors of cane sugar. Very strong. That leads into the typical lager profile of a crisp curt beer. That cane sugar flavor has a touch of molassess too as it warms. Very unusual. I really figured this would suck, but it is very good. Even has a hefty un-lager like body.
