Raphael__N (162), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 20, 2008 On tap at the Olde Stone - a seasonal served as part of a five-piece sampler. A very clean brew with a good touch of hops. The bitterness went well with the flavour profile of hops, grapefruit and spice. Pretty decent seasonal. Much, much better than their previoius Boston Pale Ale. tupalev (2311), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 5, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Nice orange pour, small white head. Decent hop aroma, fruity. Taste is good - lots of hops but more malt than I was expecting - more English style really. Light bodied despite the malt. I preferred the Boston Pale ale that I had on my last visit, but this was still decent. For sake of comparison to Ontario brewpubs outside of Toronto, this is miles better than wahjat Kingston Brewing Company is doing these days, and on par with the Merchant Ale stuff (except their exceptional IPA). IPFreely (1470), Niagara Falls, New York, USA Sep 12, 2006 On tap at the brewery. CLear golden in color with a thinner white head. Moderate aroma of some light fruit, biscut, light citrusy hops. Flavor is a tad undewhelming, a bit soapy, sweet, light hops. Light to medium bodied, shorter finish. mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 4, 2006 Draught. Clear golden with a small white head. The aroma has oranges, soap, and caramel cookies. It has the makings of a decent IPA but it’s not nearly assertive enough - lots of bread and biscuit. Watery palate, especially in the finish. radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jul 19, 2003 Hazy orange in colour. Soft aroma of hops and citrus. Flavour is very soft, with only some light hops and hop bitterness. Not the most complex IPA I have had but it is quite drinkable.
