Clark says "bean ale" and thats as good as anything...very light blonde with little head...unpleasant but not quite ruinous vegetal nose...watery, almost uncarbonated...really like flat tonic water, its that dull, though still more drinkable than the amber. Not on the top of my breweries-to-visit list. boussh (2), Saint Helena, California, USA does not count | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Jun 30, 2005 Unfilted? overcarbonated palate wiht sweet cidery overtones that make this beer unenjoyable. aromas of stewed fruit and vinegar. hope it only batch variation and not permanet tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Jun 21, 2005 Black beans, chick peas and sulfur in the aroma. Hazy pale gold with low white head that recedes immediately to ring. Sulfury, vegetal flavour is unappealing. Watery light body with almost no carbonation. Bottle sampled at the Ratebeer Mondial Gathering 2005. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Jun 14, 2005 2005 bottle provided by Dirtymike and Volgon at the Mondial Tasting, 6/4/05 Amber-orange, quite pale at that, with no head and fizzy bubbles on the surface. A lovely navy bean porridge in the nose, baked beans as well. Maybe some ham and definitely some creamed-corn. I’m impressed, I’ve never smelled beans in the aroma, that’s a new one for me. Beans in the flavor as well, just sort of salty, hints of light sugar and veggies all give it a beaniness that is quite revolting, but laughable. Very watery, little to no carbonation, lifeless texture. I assume they are having issues with bottling at this early stage. Will, of course, rerate at a later time. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Apr 12, 2005 Golden in color,hazy, with a small white lacing. Aroma of a skunk, garbage dump. Watery thin mouth feel, sweet with some earthy hops. Perhaps this bottle was passed it’s prime. aracauna (2425), Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Dry straw malt body is fairly malt for the style although very low sweetness. This is easily drinkable. Slight tingly bit of hops, but they’re not a major presence. Apparently the earlier runnings from the brewery were problematic, but the latest stuff has much improved with quality, so the scores should improve as old stock is cleared from stores and the improved product replaces it. punkeedo (483), San Antonio, Texas, USA

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of flavor! I could taste hops with a bit of lemon, with a tinge of dustiness. Looks nice poured from a bottle with a yellowish look. A good beer. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 4, 2005 Pale yellow out of the bottle with a fizzy white head. Some malts in the nose, but I also got an odd vegetable whiff. This seemed to thin to be an APA. Faint malts and a fainter lime citrus hop finish. I agree with the lawn mower beer comment. Thanks to bluesandbeer2 for the bottle.
