I am not usually a Hefe drinker but this one went down pretty well. Hazy golden pour. Aroma of cloves and wheat. Taste is typical of banana, wheat and cloves. Nothing special but drinkable. Pours a cloudy yellow with a very short lived head that leaves no lacing at all.
There is an odd sweet aroma with some light fruits and not much of the typical banana sweetness. There’s also some lemon tartness and a little spiciness,
The taste is very sweet but not exactly as I expected. It’s got some bananas but there is an overwhelming fruity sweetness that seems a bit out of place. There’s no spices that I could tell.
The mouthfeel is slick with little carbonation and subpar as far as I’m concerned.
This is my second beer from Olde Towne and it doesn’t nearly live up to the previous effort I tasted. It’s an average-at-best hefe that’s cloyingly sweet and not extremely drinkable. sebletitje (1978), Tampa, Florida, USA

pours cloudy golden, white head.
aroma and taste, bitter, light fruits, clove; spices and some banana overly yeasty and had a rancid mouthfeel. Just not that great.
Just could not finish this one. illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma of pale wheat malts and banana esters. Body and mouthfeel are way too thin for my tastes, even for the style. Overall, this just lacks the complexity and phenols of a great Hefeweizen. Average at best. fonefan (11822), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2009 Noogfest High 5. The body was hazy yellow with a white head. The obviously banana and clove was right up front. The taste was banana peel, too woody for me. Light clove. Good for the style.
