WDorning (1), Athens, Alabama, USA does not count Feb 25, 2009 Draught at Indigo Joes. Dark brown color, thin tan head, full bodied for a porter, hints of oats and chocolate. Not much of an aroma. Very good. JCB (1713), Durham, North Carolina, USA Feb 9, 2009 Thanks to the Jedi posse for sharing this at the Pre-Sex madness! If I was a state ticker, I’d be stoked, since I think this is my first Alabama beer. Anyways, it was sadly a big letdown. Indistinct and cloudy pour, very little character to the nose, cardboard and chalk taste, thin overall. ucusty (1865), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Feb 9, 2009 Growler at the sexual chocolate release. Thanks! I believe this to be my first sample from the state of Alabama. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Oxidized aroma. Chocolate, dicetyl, and coffee emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Feb 8, 2009 Growler at the Sexual Chocolate release. Pours a dark black. Nose is papery, old chocolate, cardboard, some coffee. Floavr is papery as well, grainy, popcorn, some coffee. Didn’t enjoy this one too much. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Jan 19, 2009 Draft. Black in the glass with a tall creamy tan head that had a thin layer lasting and think lace. Nice toffee aroma. The flavor found roast coffee and chocolate, Medium body and a roasty aftertaste. A very decent and enjoyable porter. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Jan 18, 2009 Updated: Mar 8, 2009

jrob21 (1250), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 17, 2009 Sampled from a growler. Bigger than anticipated roasted malt aroma with some coffee as well. Flavors mostly of chocolate with a distinct hop finish. Pour is milky brown. Both the flavor and aroma are bigger and tastier than you would expect out of a straight up porter. GAManiac (1120), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 11, 2009 Shared by the generous unclejedi at the HMoG at the Brick Store.
Pours an cloudy dark brown with a small tan head that hangs around for a while and leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is big on dark roasted malts with some sweet dark chocolate. There are hints of bitter coffee as well.
The taste really came out of nowhere. It had the roasted presence of the aroma with the same chocolaty sweetness but there was some additional lactose sweetness and a more prominent roasted coffee presence. Really tasty.
The mouthfeel was medium bodied with good carbonation.
This was one of the big surprises of the day for me. It looked and smelled good but tasted great. I guess you can add me to the list of people who hope they bottle this (as long as they send it over to Atlanta).
