Pours out an orange color without much of a head on it. The smell is instantly full of hops, grass, pine, and some alcohol. The head disappears quickly leaving a beer that is perhaps a little under carbonated. The taste of this beer was very nice, smooth, fresh hop tasting, bitter but seemingly one dimensional. There are hops, sure, but there isnt too much balance to it. I think if it had just a bit more carbonation I would have really liked this beer. It is still good stuff, and I would gladly drink it again; but I am not sure I would buy it again. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours mostly transluscent amber with a nice head. Smell is fruity, fresh, and hoppy and sweet. Nice nose. Taste is very perfume like with alcohol, and fruitiness. Hops and alchol intermingling with a decent malt background. Has a slightly unpleasant bitter alcoholic character that reminds me of getting perfume or cologne in your mouth. These European double IPAs have some simiilar thread about them that doesn’t do it for me compared to the American counterparts. Decent. Wanderer (33), Copenhagen, Denmark

I think I’ve cooled the bottle too much, ’casue the aroma is a bit distant. It is however hoppy, like grass and iron. My first drink is like an explosion!! The first tasting glimpse is of pine and wet soil, but quickly it goes into caramel, flowers, orange, mandarin and sugar. It is sweet, oily and sticky, but not overly like for instance Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA. It ends on a grape note, and leaves you desperate for more. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 3, 2008 bottle from belmont station. pours a nice gold/amber, middling carbonation. aroma is just wow hops. a ton of funky, grassy hops in the nose. flavor is a hint of bready malt immediately annihilated by more of the funky, floral hops. this is downright excellent, one of the best expressions of hop flavor and aroma i’ve had in some time.
