Commercial Description:
This is the second in a range of Ølfabrikken special ales.
Starting with the rich and slightly sweet malt profile of a Belgian triple we have added a hop charge every five minutes for full duration of the boil - each hop charge 100 grams larger than the previous one. The result is an immensely bitter ale - a 100 IBU's of course.
Ølfabrikken 100 gram IPA is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottle. Beautiful creamy fully lasting head. Color is dark amber. Aroma is thick with hops and flowers. Taste is lots of hops with a nice sweet touch. Good long bitter finish. Oh why did I drink the last drop...I want more.

Swing top bottle from henrikb, thanks a lot! Grapefruit and red berries and grassy and oily hops in the strong aroma. Malty sweetish, tart, citric hoppy flavor. Oily hopbitter aftertaste with lime, very well balanced. Just a bit of alcohol, like Cointreau liquor. I love this beer.

Nov. 2007 - Deep apple cider color with some head and lacing. Aroma of caramel and flowers. Flavor was heavy floral hops and caramel...mild level of bitterness. Well balanced IPA. Thanks to eaglefan538 for sharing.

22oz bottle. Murky golden orange with a thin film of white head. Pine, some citrus, ruddy herbal hop aromatics. Chalky caramel and acrid floral hop character up front. Heavy sweetness and an earthen hop bitterness. Malty sweetness lingers in the finish, with a vegetal hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat drying.

Very nice. Light amber pour with a small head. Resinous piney aroma. More floral hops come out in the taste but the pine essence is still there. Very respectable IPA.

22 oz bomber. Hazy orange brew with a thick white head. Aroma is very hoppy with loads of orange peel, sweet honeyed malt and a kiss of spiciness. Soft light caramel and a bit of light resin as well. Light breadiness and a fairly light crackery character. Flavour is very hoppy, sweet orange and grapefruit over a soft bready maltiness. The bitterness is surprisingly subdued given how much hop character there is in the aroma and flavour. A little bit of apricot and peach fruitiness in addition to the citrusy character. Malts are quite nice with a bit of vienna or munich malt to add some complexity. Finishes sweetish but not cloying. A lovely IIPA.
