Commercial Description:
This is the second in a range of Ølfabrikken special ales.
Starting with the rich and slightly sweet malt profile of a Belgian triple we have added a hop charge every five minutes for full duration of the boil - each hop charge 100 grams larger than the previous one. The result is an immensely bitter ale - a 100 IBU's of course.
Ølfabrikken 100 gram IPA is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottle. Small ivory head that mostly diminished, virtually no lacing, hazy, carbonation observed, and an orange golden hue. The nose was some caramel, hoppy, floral, citrus, lightly malty, and piney. The flavor was bitter, hoppy, pine, citrus, caramel, and malty.Mouthfeel was mildly tingly and medium in body. Quaffable, nicely done, good flavor, hopheads will probably enjoy this beer, and worthy of a try.

Orange color beer with a fluffy, sticky off white head. Floral and piney hop nose. This is a sweet IIPA, with lots of melted caramel and a lttle white sugar. The hops dominate this beer, with tons of pine and grapefruit rind and some apricot, pineapple and orange in there for good measure. Yeast and alcohol both grow as it warms.

Hazy dark amber. Good head and lacing. Incredibly piney, earthy and floral. Nice hops in the aroma. Lots of hops in the flavor. Earthy pine and flower flavors are accompanied by a touch of sweetness, but mostly powerful hops. A little residual sugar lingers, but more hops than anything. Very drinkable, not hot at all. Very well done overall. I really enjoyed this one, and had a feeling that the one I had was not the freshest. I can only imagine.

From bottle : Pours a muddy brown color, with a finger of froathy bubbly head that dies pretty quick, and leaves big bubbles around the outside of the glass. Pretty good amount of carbonation. Big pine hop aroma, some malt in the background, but mainly big hops. Definite piney hop taste, with some slightly sweet malts, and some alcohol on the finish. Has a semi-bitter ending. Medium body with a pretty smooth ride untill the end, when it starts getting a little bitter. Piney hops and alcohol aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a definite chill haze orangey amber with a nice almost white sticky head and good lacing all around. Aroma is mostly resinous american hops- pnw citrus, some pine and dank weed hints take over the light crackery malts. More sap and pine needle flavor from the stick hops, moderate malty sweetness from the doughy malts, hints of munich- toast, and more citrus and tacky in the finish- pretty bitter with a piney aftertaste. Pretty good DIPA.

Hazy orange with a creamy baige head. Aroma is intense flowery with lots of citrus and grapefruit along with some sweet orange. Flavor is nicely balanced and therefor not over the top but close, the sweetness sticks to you lips, an the bitterness sticks to the back of your throat.

Nice apricot hue with a foamy and lasting head, and clingy lace. Great-smelling aromas wafted up. Chewy and full mouthfeel; soft and smooth carbonation. Malts were fresh and wholesome. Big notes of yeast and bread dough were evident from start to finish; a little intense at times, but enjoyable other times. Bitterness was definitely there, but it was less than I expected. Kind of electric and zingy in the finish. Overall I thought it was pretty good, albeit very earthy.
