Commercial Description:
This is the second in a range of Ølfabrikken special ales.
Starting with the rich and slightly sweet malt profile of a Belgian triple we have added a hop charge every five minutes for full duration of the boil - each hop charge 100 grams larger than the previous one. The result is an immensely bitter ale - a 100 IBU's of course.
Ølfabrikken 100 gram IPA is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers.

The bottle looks a bit boring, the beer in the glass is okay. Starts strong, good use of hops, a bit alcoholic, modest dry finish. Warming and prickly. Well done! Thanks to HenrikSoegaard for this beer!

Bottle, aged a bit. Nose is really fruity with a hop character to it. Nice bready tone too. Pours a slightly cloudy deep golden hue a good size cream head. Peanuty flavor on entry, flavors turn doughy, an alcohol tone builds. Mouth is a bit chewy, bitterness is mild. Decent beer, would like to try fresh some day.

Nice refreshing yet powerfull brew with plenty of fresh perfumey and piney hops. The body is smooth and rather light but the finish is brutally bitter and agressive.

Poured a fluffy white head atop a turbid dark honey-amber body with lots of obvious lacing. Somewhat surprised that this is the "malt profile" of a triple. Aroma is strongly citric, primarily grapefruit, some lemon too, slightly herbal, and bicuity as well. Flavor is bittersweet citric, predominantly grapefruit again, floral (lavender or chamomile, possibly even dandelion), honey and bready. Palate is soft and smooth and intoxicatingly warming. Pleasant but hop bitterness to floralness and malt is not quite balanced. Very good nonetheless.

Beautiful clear amber color with ok head. Very plesant 2IPA. The bitterness is not so strong, Some acidic cirus hoppy bitterness.

Turbid orange with a soapy head - aroma of orange, grapefruit pith, lemon zest, mint, lavender - there is a lot of minty, herbal character to this that makes it very unlike any other ipa I’ve had - the additional wildflower character adds an interesting dimension as well - a bit earthy and slightly vegetal through the middle - honey sweetness is a little bit strong, and the hop bitterness isn’t potent enough to balance it that well - some notes of oxidation - still, the uncommon flavor characteristics make it interesting.

It was a orange amber pour. It had a strong citrusy aroma. The head was off white. It had a strong hop taste but well balanced. It had a caramel malty finish to it. I really enjoyed this beer.
