| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Aroma of floral and citrus hop. Maybe some malt. Hazy amber color with large bubble white head that laces slightly. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. The flavor is fruit hop, maybe citrus hop, and a little caramel. This is not balanced. The finish is hop bitter. With fruit notes. Ok, some caramel sweet is present. But it’s still 100 IBU, so there must not be a lot of sugars, or else there is an impressive amount of hop. Fulfilled my hop desires. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, his bottle, thanks for sharing and putting up with me wanting to stay for one more beer! Dark hazy orange, small white head, looks nice. Very fruity hop aroma - hint of burnt malt and some plastic. Great taste - some fruit, a little water and then wham! Hops. A lot of them. Very very bitter. After this initial hit, it eases into a very drinkable Double - lots of fruit, lots of caramel sweetness. Great stuff! uhre (339), Denmark

I wanted this to be my rating number 100 I knew it would be good! The aroma is full of hops - like fresh hops - wonderful. The flavor is also very hoppy - so perfectly balanced. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Tasted at theisti’s Holiday tasting. Poured a hazy gold. Low white head. Big citrus hop nose with lots of sweet malt. This is a big beer in all aspects. Solid malt backbone with a big hop bitterness. Piney hops. If I had tasted it blind, I would have pegged it as American. A little musty flavor that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, dinged my score a bit. An interesting mix of American and European style brewing. Syd (909), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Big bottle pours a hazed yellow amber with a nice head and lots of clingy lace. The aroma is of delicious smelling hops - floral, grapefruit, and pine. The flavor is massive malt, sweet, with touches of hops to finish, but not in the American over-the-top way. The pallet is rich and cleansing. Overall, this is good, real good. SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2007 22 oz bomber from South Bay Drugs. Viewed as a gloomy burnt orange hue and topped by a thick and fluffy head. The nose is a hearty serving of a organic notes of hop, flower, and pine with a notice of bread and malt. The flavor is even more complex sending my taste buds into confusion with the salty, bitter and minor reminders of sweetness it gives off. Some comparable flavors in this DIPA are strong notes of honey as well as oatmeal bread, grain wheat, perfume, citrus hops, molasses and pine. This ale is so strong I feel like it can’t even be described fully. theisti (1689), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2007 650 ml bottle from Davidson’s in Centennial, CO enjoyed at my Holiday Mini Tasting. Pour is hazy orange with a loose off white head. Aroma of big pine hops with rock candy sweetness. Taste is big with the piney hops - really big, juniper Gin and its scope. Some straw / hay in the finish. The after taste also has some weird honey spiciness that lingers. Someone else mentioned plastic, and there certainly is something not quite natural to this taste. This one was well made, just not sure I took to the overall taste profile. Miksu (2234), Jyväskylä, Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Draught at Helsinki Beer Festival 2007. Hazy brown amber color. Very powerful mangoish, grapefruity and piney hop aroma and flavor. Thick bitter and oily palate. Unfortunately contains some plastic notes which lower the score considerably.
