Taste is sweet malt, citrus & pine hops, and a hint of caramel. Medium full resiny mouthfeel with a strong but well balanced amount of bitterness. Very good. waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2007 22oz Bottle from SL. Pour was imperial red-like, deep amber, ok initial head, but nothing impressive, faded quickly, lacing was weak splotchy. The aroma was tea bags, caramel, floral piney hops. The flavor followed the aroma dead on, darned malty, slight salty notes. Mouthfeel was full and hearty. A decent dIPA, but my pants are still on. after4ever (2776), Brier, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2007 22. I should say "Thanks, HogFodder!," but I failed to take any notes that night and this is actually a different bottle. Still, gratitude belongs where it’s appropriate. :-)
This pours a deep opaque mahogany brown with golden amber highlights and a thick, rocky, sudsy off-white head and sheets of bubbly, foamy lace. Big beasty-looking beer. Nice sweet mango and light pine on the nose. Medium, softly carbed body. Plenty of rolling mango and fresh sweet pine on the mid-palate. Clingy, slightly resiny bitter finish. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
