Commercial Description:
This is the second in a range of Ølfabrikken special ales.
Starting with the rich and slightly sweet malt profile of a Belgian triple we have added a hop charge every five minutes for full duration of the boil - each hop charge 100 grams larger than the previous one. The result is an immensely bitter ale - a 100 IBU's of course.
Ølfabrikken 100 gram IPA is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers.

Decent sized head. Frothy and off-white in color with some light carbonation. Nice hoppy aroma. Lots of pine, grapefruit and flowers. This aroma hits all of the hops typicals along with a nice caramel malts backbone. Color is a hazy dark caramel. Hmmm, wonder what this was like a bit fresher. Kind of sweet and very malty. Big helping of caramel. Very strong bitter peanut skin flavor with some herbal flavors and a noticable alcohol presence. Thick and syrupy palate. Finishes sweet and bitter and creamy smooth. A pretty darn good IIPA but probably was a bit better when it was fresher.

Wonderful full pine hop aromaStrong deep, hop infused malt, body thick, almost muddy, the hops had that slight rubbery taste, that you get from aging hops. Still sn encellent brew, probaly was a gem 6 months ago. Thanks Kingpin

White-yellowish fluffy head over greenish orange beer. Nice, dry, hoppy & citrusaroma’s, dry hop bales. Very dry, reasonably bitter, citrus/orange/grapefruitlike IPA; nice decent hoppiness. Malt is inconspicious, but is there to sustain allright. Reasonably well-balanced beer, long bitter aftertaste. Good IPA, in the DFH 60 or 90 mins style. Many thanks, René!

Light copper color, medium bodied, creamy smooth palate, great lacing. Actually, not overly hoppy, but a great sweet malt that includes some nice apricot notes and citrus aromas. TOo bad you could drink this like water, it’s a bit expensive!

Bottle: pours a cloudy brownish-orange with a frothy white head, aroma is hoppy, citrus and some other smell that I can’t really place, taste is surprisingly mellow, malty and sweet. There is a bit of bitterness in the finish but overall a mellow and balanced DIPA. Pretty good.

Dark amber under a creamy lasting & lacing beige head. Very strong and complex hop profile over the American palette, inviting. Quite malty and fruity at the first swallow, then it explodes in a resinous very drying bitter end.
