Commercial Description:
Once a year the the Danish Beer Enthusiasts celebrates "Øllets Dag" - Day of the beer. This year they wanted something special. Together with the founders of the organization, we made a recipe based on a classic Belgian Dark Ale. Ølfabrikken AA is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge dark orange-brown head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy with strong notes of caramel and muscovado sugar, and the spices includes coriander and cloves. The alcohol is also noticable in the aroma. The flavor is very sweet with notes of muscovado sugar, alcohol, caramel, spices, nuts, and some vegetables, leading to a dry nutty and spicy finish, where the alcohol leaves you with a slight burn on the palate.

(Bottle 50 cl) Unclear dark brown with a small, beige head. The aroma is almost vinous with dried fruit and roasted malt. Very fullbodied and alcoholic with lots of good stuff like prunes and other dried fruits as well as plenty of sweet, roasted malt. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. Appears almost like an Old Ale with wooden accents. 081006

50 cL bottle. What a gusher, Morten got all soaked in this, I had to run to the bathroom to open it fully. The foam kept coming out of this so I put the swing lock back on - when I had the empty the bottle for the rest later in the evening I managed to spray the kitchen sink, window, freezer - you name it - I’m glad this is retired.

Pours hazy dark brown with a huge brown head. Heavy raisin aroma, astringent malty too. Carbonated mouthfeel. Nice liqourice flavoured with a mellow sweet note. Ends slight bitter but then again rather soft caramel malty with a persisting liqourice note.

Bottled at Söderbärke Mikroölfestival. Dark ruby, rich creamy head. Aroma of coffee and pineapple with evident notes of alcohol. Medium, bodied, sweet with and vinous with burnt malt, lingonberries and wood. Dense mouthfeel, salty finish. Very complex, but perhaps the alcohol is a little bit too visible.

Dark brown color; huge creamy head. Malty aroma, sweet and spicy (cinnamon and nutmeg), with caramel; like the best Belgian ales. Good body structure; flavors of malt, caramel and liquorice in competition; woody. Good bitterness level, with a caramel-liquorice mix as well in the final. With some oxydation it becomes smoother.

Ølfestival Horsens 2006. It’s a very dark brown beer with a beautiful, golden head. The aroma and flavour is wonderfully malty with caramel, ant the flavour has the same notes, and also candy sugar and a hint of chocolate. The bitterness is very nice - a really nice beer!
