Nice tight beer foam that is tan and lingers very well. Aroma of raisins, candied nuts, mild spice and slight alcohol. The taste is rich and satiating. Notes of plums, brown sugar, caramelized apples and clove. The middle is sweet but fades fast in the finish and keeps me going back to this enjoyable brew. Well done and nice bottle presentation. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Pours a light brown body, slightly hazed, with a tall fizzy pale tan head that subsides pretty quickly. Slippery lacing comes & goes. The aroma is nice, toasty sweet malts, dark plums, brown sugar, a faint floral bouquet. It’s light bodied and vibrantly carbonated. The flavor adds some dark dried fruit, orchard fruit, and caramel. Pretty decent, if somewhat gassy.
