Poured dark brown color with a large light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good tawny port fruity aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Full well balanced sweet vinous flavor with a medium complex finish of long duration. Good brew. GreatLibations (1454), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2007 Pours a dark dingey copper color like an old penny from the 60’s. A tall foamy head persists and sticks like a stubborn muledeer. After some coaxing the head comes down and rests as a thick, downy canopy. Faint dusty candy aromas speak in a Belgian tongue. Medium full nectar w/ ample mellow residual effers. The texture is soft and semi creamy. A full malty body and only mildly sweet w/ flavors of plumby stonefruit, grapes, melon, brown sugar, and gummy bears. Theres a slightly acidic spicey essence that charges through and balances it all out. The finish is bittered well leaving a spicey tingling on my tongue. A solid representation of the style and highly recommended. yemenmocha (426), Glendale, Arizona, USA

On the palate is again dark candied fruits, some estery notes, and a longlasting sweetness on the finish. Somewhat sour too. kkearn (1014), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Dark amber colored, slightly cloudy appearance with hazy appearance. Little yellow head. Nice aroma with spices, licorice and some vinous-berry sourness, mild alcohol also comes up. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is even more vinous with still nice spices and licorice, rather high carbonation. Also some BW-styled raisins here, aftertaste is still vinous and spicy with nice warming alcohol and yeast. I like this licorice here. cheeta (904), Langå, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 11, 2007 Bottled 0,75 ltr (brewed 30/11/2006)
Hazy nut brown color, good creamy brownish head. Caramel and dates in the nose. Fizzy carbonation. Flavor has caramel, brown sugar and sweet dark fruits (dates, prunes and raisins). Quite sweet, can’t pick coriander here, alcohol starts to warm in the finish. Ordinary abbey dubbel but of course well-brewed as all beers of Ølfabrikken line up, Het Anker’s name is not making this worse either.
