Pours a hazy, orangey brown with a dense, off-white head leaving some lacework. Complex, fruity and vinous nose. Quite full in body full of sweetish, roasted malt and again this delicate vinous fruitiness - some marzipan also. Excellent. 090507 yespr (12429), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2007 75 cl bottle. Pours deep brown with a huge light brown head. Aroma is hoppy, sweet caramel, malty and yeasty. Yeast provides clear notes of raisins and a characteristic belgian aroma. Strangely this reminds me of both an Orval and Westmalle tripel at the same time. Full bodied almost winous. Alcohol presence is clear but softly blended with the malt. Flavour is caramel sweet with a good bitterness in the end. A clear strength in the taste is coming from the alcohol. Sweet to light dry in the finish. I wonder what this will taste like in a year from now. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden
