GreatLibations (1332), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Dec 4, 2007 Pours a dark dingey copper color like an old penny from the 60’s. A tall foamy head persists and sticks like a stubborn muledeer. After some coaxing the head comes down and rests as a thick, downy canopy. Faint dusty candy aromas speak in a Belgian tongue. Medium full nectar w/ ample mellow residual effers. The texture is soft and semi creamy. A full malty body and only mildly sweet w/ flavors of plumby stonefruit, grapes, melon, brown sugar, and gummy bears. Theres a slightly acidic spicey essence that charges through and balances it all out. The finish is bittered well leaving a spicey tingling on my tongue. A solid representation of the style and highly recommended.
Rciesla (1571), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Dec 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with a tan head and a bit of sediment sprinkled across the head. Dark fruit latent alcohol, raisin, coriander. Zesty spices pepper, allspice, vinous with a note of brown sugar and bread. Pinball (995), Allerød, Denmark Oct 28, 2008 bottle 75cl all by myself heh heh , found in ølbutikken (bbf 2012)
ap:pours dark brown, some floaties, small yellow/lighty brown head.
strong fruity, raisins , dark fruits aroma, some alc or rather oomph power to it. butter-roasted white bread.
palate is too bubbly for me, bubble-up-in-my-mouth-feeling. [after waiting 10mins palate got real good]
flavor is good. caramel, sweet dark fruits, candi sugar. ends in some kind of alc and spices bitterness that also isn’t THAT good. After i let it warm up and settle a white, it got loads better. don’t serve below 12celcius. you’ll need a well tempered bottle to do a fair rating. Bottle: The aroma consists of fruit, caramel, banana, raisin, and slight vinous notes. It pours a cloudy orangish-red with lots of sediment and a half-inch off white head. The flavor starts moderately fruity with banana and yeast. There is some faint candi sugar in the middle. The finish is lightly vinous with some light-moderate raisin and a touch of alcohol. It’s medium bodied with lively carbonation that initially comes across a tad prickly at times. However, after sitting for 10 minutes, the carbonation really softens. bp (356), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 17, 2008 Bottle: pours a cloudy orangish-brown with a thin white head, aroma of yeast, sweet caramel and dark fruits, taste is sweet but dry, plenty of dark fruit flavor, spices, very carbonated, a bit of the alcohol in the finish, very nice job with this one. MatSciGuy (390), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a hazy, chunky brown with a large tan head. Aroma is slight, with a little tart fruity yeast. Flavor is raisins, malt, yeast, caramel, and alcohol. Sharpness in the flavor adds a bit of dimension.
