Commercial Description:
When we were getting closer to brewing our 100'th batch we wanted it to be something special. That is why we decided to confirm all the prejudices about Ølfabrikken and make the hoppiest beer made in Europe in 150 years. It contains almost 100 times more hops than your average Danish lager per liter - and all of it high-alpha US hops. The brutal bitterness is balanced by a full-bodied, but not sweet, malt profile based on Maris otter and caramel malt with some cane sugar adding dryness. Ølfabrikken Batch #100 is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced on 'Københavnske Øldage 2006'.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2006. Pours a amber hazy colour with almost no head. Very hoppy aroma with some hints of grapefruits. Sweet malty flavor with lots of hops and hints of grapefruits. Leaves you with a long bitter aftertaste.

Almost no head, what there is, is big bubbled and white on a very unclear amber body; Dry hop juicy nose, it lacks depth and complexity: dough, warm flowers; Quite sweet body, with lots of fill and to little carbonation; Long slow starting finish (it never completely gets going), again way sweet, with a dry hoppy character: flowers, drying grass and quite some pine.

Draught at Københavns Øldage 2006. A very hoppy, cloudy, hoppy yes hoppy Imperial IPA. But a very pleasant taste, malty caramel. A long not brutal bitter finish. A very nice taste.

Draught. Very nice, hoppy aroma. Cloudy orange colour, almost no head. The flavour is also very nice and hoppy, and quite peppery. Nice mouthfeel, alcohol seems quite present.

Draught. Hazy orange-brown with a white head. The aroma is screaming of hops...crazy, really. Grapefruit, alcohol, yeasty, and some sweetness. It sure is bitter but it somehow remains manageable. Kind of a soapy and caramel underpinning and the finish lingers with a resiny presence. An excellent creation, Christian! Sampled at the Ølfabrikken Brewday on May 19, 2006.

Bottled. Aroma of sweet malts and quite floral. Hazy, amber color, off-white head, few lace. Very sweet, very herbal, roses and very malty as well. Alcoholic and warming. Flavors last forever. Nice but overall seems just less complex and more alcohol but based on their Pale Ale.

Cloudy amber colour with a small thin off white head. Malty, caramel sweet aroma with a hoppy pineapple fruityness. Malty and sweet flavor with a hoppy fruity note.

Little head over hazy, reddish-orange beer. Dry hopsacks, rosewater, dry straw, rosehips, sweet nose, strangely. Rather sweet initial impression. Hoppiness is very outspoken, but it is more mouthfeel thing, a puckering rather than a taste, let alone bitterness. Very thick, round MF, dry, tart aftertaste. I’m not quite convinced - there’s some laudable attempt at balance, but it seems to go in all directions instead of blending. Then, it has to be said that it was tasted in less than optimal circumstances - thanks to Martin E and his companion, all the same!
