Commercial Description:
When we were getting closer to brewing our 100'th batch we wanted it to be something special. That is why we decided to confirm all the prejudices about Ølfabrikken and make the hoppiest beer made in Europe in 150 years. It contains almost 100 times more hops than your average Danish lager per liter - and all of it high-alpha US hops. The brutal bitterness is balanced by a full-bodied, but not sweet, malt profile based on Maris otter and caramel malt with some cane sugar adding dryness. Ølfabrikken Batch #100 is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced on 'Københavnske Øldage 2006'.

An unclear dark orange beer with a bubbly orange head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of oranges, but also vanilla and a nice presence of aroma hops. The flavor is lovely, like a good cup of hop juice, it is quite sweet, but the sweetness is very well balanced of a high bitterness, though I’m a bit surprised that it is not more bitter, considering that it contains 42 grams of hops per liter of beer. The bitter end I really enjoy - is it Chinook?

(On tap) Hazy, orangey brown basically without any head. Lightly hoppy aroma. Very full body with sweetish caramel malt and an extreme bitterness from the aroma hops. Had expected more from this. 190506

[Draught at Købehavnske Øldage] Cloudy pale amber, small creamy head. Heavily hoppy aroma of sweaty grapefruit. Sweetish and soft with sufficient malt to carry the onslaught of the hops. Very aromatic and flavourful - all from the hops. Needless to say the finish is California style bitter.

Draught @ Købehavnske Øldage. Hazy and amberish in colour with a medium head. A very hoppy double IPA. Very well balanced. Nice hoppyness - also some notes of fruit - and citrus.

Draught. Very nice, hoppy aroma. Cloudy orange colour, almost no head. The flavour is also very nice and hoppy, and quite peppery. Nice mouthfeel, alcohol seems quite present.

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen
Muddy amber color; big creamy head. Wonderful fruity aroma, having also some grass (I remember my youth years in Como; geranium?) and resins; at the end, a clear aroma of hop pellets. The taste is malty, and the malt is soon overwhelmed by an extreme and aggressive hopping, full of resins.
