Jeg lod denne ligge halvandet år og modne, resultatet var uovertruffent. Den havde udviklet sig formidabelt, rom rosiner, kandis osv i et festfyrværkeri ned gennem svælget.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a very thin tan head. The aroma is sweet yet lightly acidic at the same time with notes of berries, pine, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with a quite intense body hitting right away, though without giving away the 8% ABV, and then a complex mixture of wood, berries, caramel, and raisins kick in together with a slight tartness, leading to a dry woody finish.

A sweet brown ale that looks great in the glass. A bit too sweet for me but it was an interesting combination.

Bottle. Pours a brown color with an off-white head. Sweet malty candy aroma. Sweet malty slightly bitter flavor with some fruity hints and hints of alcohol. Sweet malty finish with a dry bitter aftertaste.

Dark brown body, creamy beige head; Quite big and powerful nose, again a lack of clarity. Non of the aromas really stands out and the hole thing becomes a bit muddy, the most present aromas are of burnt raisins; Very soft right amount of carbonation, soft a bit thin texture, very strange bitterness; It finishes long and again with a very strange mix of bitterness and warm fruity acidy, almost a bit harsh, lots of candied sugar aromas but even more yeast. Lacks balance and clarity.

Bottle. Sweet, weak raisin aroma. Dark roasted malts and nice pepperiness in the flavour along with nice dried fruits. Slight roastedness/bitterness in the aftertaste. Good balance between alcohol and sweetness. A very good example of a Belgian ale.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, orangey brown with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of lightly burned caramel and som accents of port. Fairly full body with caramel notes, lightly roasted malt notes and some dried fruits. The added rum is quite detectable on the palate in a warming way. Touches of yeast and a vague, underlying saltiness. Not much bitterness though. 031106

Pours a dark brown with a tanned head. Somewhat portish, with a deep fruityness. Also notes of prunes and fresh spicyness. Heavy bodied and somewhat woody.
