Dark roasted malts and nice pepperiness in the flavour along with nice dried fruits. Slight roastedness/bitterness in the aftertaste. Good balance between alcohol and sweetness. A very good example of a Belgian ale. ciuspan (94), Hillerød, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Bottled. A deep red beer with a very thin tan head. The aroma is sweet yet lightly acidic at the same time with notes of berries, pine, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with a quite intense body hitting right away, though without giving away the 8% ABV, and then a complex mixture of wood, berries, caramel, and raisins kick in together with a slight tartness, leading to a dry woody finish. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark
