Commercial Description:
An experiment where we tried to make a classic British strong ale, as they used to be brewed. A very bitter and flavorful ale hopped with copious amounts of British whole leaf hops added in several steps during the brew process - with the last addition directly in the cask from where the ale is served. Spicy, floral aroma combined with a firm malt profile makes this brew strong tasting, but still very quaffable. Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, two types of caramel malt and the finest Demerare cane sugar. Ølfabrikken "Britisk Strong Ale" is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced on 'Fynske Øldage' 2005.

Draft af Ølbaren. Creamy white fair head. Red colour. Fantastic aroma and flavor. Another hoppy beer from Ølfabrikken. Be hurry and taste it while its still available at Ølbaren.

(on tap) Very darl orange, lasting white head. Sunflowersweet aroma, soft carbonation. Slightly spicy, maltsyrup tatse. Dry finish, somewhat vinourous finish. A very drinkable, straight forward ale, I would have liked to seen staying on the line-up.

Tap@Ølbaren. Slight hazy amber color with an off-white head. Full body with malty notes. Fruity and slight hoppy. Hops on the palate.

Draught. Very nice hop aroma (like most other Ølfabrikken beers). Dark copper colour. Small creamy head. Flavour is hoppy, of course. Creamy mouthfeel. Slightly dusty aftertaste.

(On tap) Unclear - almost muddy - light brown with an orange glow. Small, beige head. Hoppy, fruity nose. Light caramelish malt sweetness, with a dry hoppy finish. Very classical from this brewery, but by now I start to feel, that their beers are a bit too similar. Just adding loads of quality aroma hops doesn’t necessarily make a great brew. 281005

Aroma dominated by flowery fresh hops, pine and tobacco. Lots of bitterness, but with a round mouthfeel.

Hand bottled from draught by the man himself, chief brewer ChristianSA.
Unclear amberorange colored, small head. Aroma is dominating by forest and pine needle, it’s like talking a walk in a forest at spring. Fresh and fruity, but a bit odd. Flavor is bitter hoppy, eathly and spicy with a sweet caramelly note and an ultra dry finish. An interesting beer, but a bit unbalanced and far from the best from this awesome brewer. Sorry Christian ;-)
