Commercial Description:
An experiment where we tried to make a classic British strong ale, as they used to be brewed. A very bitter and flavorful ale hopped with copious amounts of British whole leaf hops added in several steps during the brew process - with the last addition directly in the cask from where the ale is served. Spicy, floral aroma combined with a firm malt profile makes this brew strong tasting, but still very quaffable. Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, two types of caramel malt and the finest Demerare cane sugar. Ølfabrikken "Britisk Strong Ale" is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and cask conditioned like all of our beers. Introduced on 'Fynske Øldage' 2005.

Draught at Ølbaren. Served in Ølfabrikken glass. Muddy brown/orange. Small, big-bubbled head. The aroma is sweetish and fruity w/ nice, spicy hop presence. Caramel, fruit, and hefty (British) hops dominate the flavor. Thick, slick mouthfeel.

Draught @ Fynske Øldage: Orange coloured. Unclear. Beige dense head. Sweet, spiced (vanilla), fruity and notes of alcohol in the nose. Flavour is quite herbal and distinct hoppy. Has light caramel notes. Is medium bodied and smooth. Dry and bitter in the end. Me like.
