The aroma is sweet hoppy and malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with quite a lot of alcohol, giving a slight alcohol burn, but also lots of hops and caramel, leading to a dry end. I’d say it is too hoppy for an English Strong Ale, but it is a good beer. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2005 (On tap) Unclear - almost muddy - light brown with an orange glow. Small, beige head. Hoppy, fruity nose. Light caramelish malt sweetness, with a dry hoppy finish. Very classical from this brewery, but by now I start to feel, that their beers are a bit too similar. Just adding loads of quality aroma hops doesn’t necessarily make a great brew. 281005 MiP (9159), Sønderborg, Denmark

Small creamy head. Flavour is hoppy, of course. Creamy mouthfeel. Slightly dusty aftertaste. joergen (8634), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2006 First retired beer I drink on draught... Hazy amber, small yellowish head. British hops, dry hopped. I seemed to get diacetyl, but gone after the first nosefull. Caramel, no doubt. Dry hoppy with UK hops if I ever had some. Wow, this is just so right - leafy, hoppy, even citrus hops, resiny. Medium bodied, just as it ought to be. Impressed. I wish the British brewers made it that well - as this was on KEG, if you please. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
