Commercial Description:
This dark, rich ale is based on the combination of eight different malts and cereals. This yields a complex malt profile with some sweetness, balanced by American hops, which also provides the ale with a citrussy aroma. Can be enjoyed on a cold day by itself or with grilled meat and hearty stews. Ølfabrikken Brown Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottle. I really liked the syrupy and chocolaty aroma. Sweet malty taste. A little thin.

Bottle. Pours a brown body with a tan head. Light nutty, toffee, some roasted caramel, and a light bitter hop finish. Earthy and delicious.

Great brown ale. Very rich aroma of spices, american hops, coffee, toast and nuts. Roasted bitter flavor along with the bitter us hops. One of the best brown ales i’ve tasted.

First beer, second day at European Beer Festival 08, 100ml from tap. Deep, brown body. Thin, but lasting beige head. Sweet, roasted malts to the nose. Cocoa flavour with notes of citrus fruits in the tail. Medium palate and fairly well made brown ale (13.09.2008).

0,5 l bottle, shared with Roger. Best before 7. sept. 2008. Brorwn/dark red color with a fine off-white head. Aroma is strong roasted malt and also hops. The flavor is sweet malty, roasted malt and fine hops. A very nice brown ale. A shame Christian can´t brew it anymore.

Draught No head, coca-coloured beer. Brown sugar, hops, old wet wood, bit piney aroma. Dry, just a bit of sweetness, and friteuse oil, or too well browned fries. Light to medium bodied, Light in the palate even if it is not really empty. Decent brown, carefully avoiding the syrup.
