Commercial Description:
This dark, rich ale is based on the combination of eight different malts and cereals. This yields a complex malt profile with some sweetness, balanced by American hops, which also provides the ale with a citrussy aroma. Can be enjoyed on a cold day by itself or with grilled meat and hearty stews. Ølfabrikken Brown Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Pours brown with an off-white diminishing head.Sweet with a light sourness. Aromas of caramel, cascade hops, pepper and a hint of yeast. Medium to full bodied. Bitter finish with more yeast aromas. Nice Brown Ale with relatively strong hops aromas. Reminds me a bit of a thin US barley wine...

Brownish colour with a small creamy somewhat lasting brown head. Aroma and taste of malt and hobs. Nice palate and average lasting taste

Bottle. Murky brown with small dense off-white head. Malty, fruity, leather, earthy hops, dusty and somewhat unclean. Pleasent mouthfeel; soft and medium-full bodied. A nice brown ale.

Outstanding brown ale in my opinion and a must for everyone who is visiting Denmark. Had it from a bottle together with marinated herring. Nice burned smell and flavor. Nice bitters too, not sweet at all nice andry and clear taste that stay on for ever. A WINNER.

Quite sweet and malty nose, very nice notes of caramel, milk chocolate and some vanilla. Hazy brownish body, with a big frothy tan head. Malty flavor, quite smooth, not as good as the aroma, ends on a bitter note.

Small off-white head. Weak aroma dominated by yeast, fruits and hops. Medium bodied. Rather heavy flavour with lots of sweet roasted malts well-balanced by loads of hobs. Bitter finish with notes of liquorice. - An unusual brown ale more like a stout. Hasn’t got the watery and exaggerated sweet flavour of the typical brown ale. But this is truly is a great beer!

Draft at Brewpub. Both aroma and flavor is very hoppy, but with a strong malty note. Almost like rock candy. This is an outstanding beer. Even the head is great. Beige and creamy with loads of lacing.
