Commercial Description:
This dark, rich ale is based on the combination of eight different malts and cereals. This yields a complex malt profile with some sweetness, balanced by American hops, which also provides the ale with a citrussy aroma. Can be enjoyed on a cold day by itself or with grilled meat and hearty stews. Ølfabrikken Brown Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Great aroma of burned nuts. slight hint of chocolate. Nice taste of malt and nuts that unfortunatly fades too soon. but all in all a good beer!

Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Hazy red/brown colour with a smooth creamy head. Plenty of nutty malt here, with some woody edges. Fair amount of chocolate too. Also a prominent US hop element. Mouthfeel is clean and firm. I’m not usually a big fan of Brown Ales but this is certainly one of the best I’ve had thanks to the balance of malt and hop.

(50 cl bottle at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg)
Shady copper brown to reddish color, small tan head. Grainy and fruity scent with citrus notes. Grainy creamy taste with a roasted aftertaste. High co2 spritzy, yet rather smooth mouthfeel. Medium bitterness.
