Commercial Description:
This dark, rich ale is based on the combination of eight different malts and cereals. This yields a complex malt profile with some sweetness, balanced by American hops, which also provides the ale with a citrussy aroma. Can be enjoyed on a cold day by itself or with grilled meat and hearty stews. Ølfabrikken Brown Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Unclear brown. Moderate, off-white head. Lightly hoppy, lightly malty aroma. Pleasantly balanced flavor: nicely, darkly malty with finely, freshly, citrusy hoppy finish. Soft, but rather thin mouthfeel.

Bottle. I have tasted thisone several times since I found them for only 20 kr (close to expiry date). It is getting better for each time I open one and I’m looking forward to taste it draught. Malty and hoppy and welldosed with enormous amounts of ingredients.

Murky unclear brown with fine head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Filling texture. Medium to little carbonation. Pleasant sweetness. Great lasting finish. I was impressed with this one!

Red-brown colour without much head. Sweet aromas with some flowery hops. A bit of caramel and flowers appear as well. Complex taste. Begins sweet with a touch of caramel (brown sugar?). Then the hops make thir entrance on a pillow of malty sweetness. Great!

50 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Brown colour with a nice head. Aroma of roastedness, hops and some chocolate. Nice tasty flavour of roastedness, chocolate and a touch of hops, ends up smooth and lightful.

Generally malty, plenty of carbon dioxide, grainy and a dry aftertaste. Just one of those beers.
