Commercial Description:
This dark, rich ale is based on the combination of eight different malts and cereals. This yields a complex malt profile with some sweetness, balanced by American hops, which also provides the ale with a citrussy aroma. Can be enjoyed on a cold day by itself or with grilled meat and hearty stews. Ølfabrikken Brown Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

A very deep red-brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is a little dusty and carpet like, but also spicy. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and fruit, leaning toward overripe fruits. The body is thin to start off (while it is cold), but turns nice before the glass is empty.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very brown with a red tint. Slightly hazy, pretty much without any head. No spices are used but the beer still appears spicy and aromatic from the good aroma hops. No less than 8 malts/cereals!! This really is a malthead’s beer. Very harmonious and pleasant brew by American inspiration. 050205

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with huge light brown head. Flouver and malt aroma. Creamy texture with sweet malt taste and cascade hops freshening up the caramelly malt taste. Bitter hoppy finish.

Bottled. Dark brown colour with mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruits, earth, yeast and some dark fruits. Flavour is quite sour, but otherwise similar to what the aroma was. Some slight yeastyness in finish.

Brown colour with a huge creamy beige head. Malty and fruity aroma. Sweet malty flavour with notes of pink grape, and a well balanced bitterness. In my opinion, it’s the best danish brown ale.
