Aug 23, 2005 Draft at Brewpub. Both aroma and flavor is very hoppy, but with a strong malty note. Almost like rock candy. This is an outstanding beer. Even the head is great. Beige and creamy with loads of lacing.

Oct 7, 2005 Outstanding brown ale in my opinion and a must for everyone who is visiting Denmark. Had it from a bottle together with marinated herring. Nice burned smell and flavor. Nice bitters too, not sweet at all nice andry and clear taste that stay on for ever. A WINNER.

Sep 25, 2006 Unclear brown. Moderate, off-white head. Lightly hoppy, lightly malty aroma. Pleasantly balanced flavor: nicely, darkly malty with finely, freshly, citrusy hoppy finish. Soft, but rather thin mouthfeel.

Dec 8, 2007 Bottle at Pig’s Ear BF 08. Like the porter, this is excellent. Really good ingredients. Good intensity, good malts. Tasty. Just a lovely beer. Good sting on end. Sweetish brown malt is balanced by finishing zing.

Aug 8, 2007 Hazy brown Begie head. The sight of it makes me warm inside. When I first smell it brings lots of chocolat, some coffee and roasted malt. Flavor: malty, chocolat and caramel. The mouthfeel is wonderful. Round and smooth.

Sep 25, 2005 Small off-white head. Weak aroma dominated by yeast, fruits and hops. Medium bodied. Rather heavy flavour with lots of sweet roasted malts well-balanced by loads of hobs. Bitter finish with notes of liquorice. - An unusual brown ale more like a stout. Hasn’t got the watery and exaggerated sweet flavour of the typical brown ale. But this is truly is a great beer!

Nov 2, 2007 Murky brown body, with a large fluffy head and ample lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, some dark fruit, grapefruit, some chocolate, not unlike some of those hoppy USA porters. Bittersweet and roasty taste - a large malt profile, with chocolate, cherry, caramel, espresso, plus well-integrated grapefruity hops. Dries out dramatically in the finish. Excellent balance. Low on CO2.
